To become a hospice volunteer at Sutter Hospice. The greatest gift one can offer is their time, caring nature and willingness to be present. Training and ongoing support are provided to all volunteers, so experience is not required. Volunteers are trained to enhance the overall goal of meeting the physical, emotional, spiritual and practical needs of hospice patients and their families.
It's a great opportunity to serve while learning new skills and enhancing existing ones. Volunteers may stay with the patient to give the caregiver some time away or time to rest and they can be a caring companion and compassionate listener to both patients and families.
