Data Team

Summary of Position

Provide support for planning and data-driven decisions by collecting information in the field. Volunteers primarily utilize apps on tablets and smart phones to gather required details. Other projects may be developed throughout the year to utilize volunteer expertise and assistance.

Duties

Conduct visitor intercept surveys as requested by various Jeffco Parks & Open Space teams.

Collect observational data in predetermined locations to record information about park visitor usage patterns.

Ensure accuracy of vehicle and trail counters by performing regular calibrations.

Requirements

Commit to the mission and goals of Jeffco Parks & Open Space (JCPOS).

Demonstrate ability to work independently with little direct supervision.

Contribute a minimum of 2 hours per month (on average) and attend required trainings.

Submit to a background check before acceptance into the program.

Maintain a current email address and commit to reading and responding, when needed, to email communication from Volunteer Services and/or the Program Coordinator(s).

Abide by JCPOS Park Regulations and established volunteer policies and procedures outlined in the JCPOS Volunteer Handbook and the Volunteer Agreement.
