Join the incarcerated-led innovation lab partnering with the Governor’s Office, eL Seed, FaithXLVII, and other visionaries to shape how the world experiences the movement for justice reform — through powerful storytelling, creative collaboration, and digital campaigns.
Why This Matters
San Quentin SkunkWorks is redefining how reform happens — bringing world-class designers, artists, and technologists together inside prison walls to co-create the future of justice.
Our work has been featured on the front page of the LA Times and profiled by CalMatters as a model for system-wide transformation. Supported by leading foundations and civic partners, we’re proving that incarcerated creators aren’t the subjects of reform — we’re the architects of it.
This isn’t a content support role. It’s an opportunity to lead storytelling across channels — helping the public see justice through our eyes.
The Project
We’re launching a national media and awareness campaign to showcase Chiaroscuro: Light Within the Shadows — a mural and storytelling initiative featuring global artists eL Seed, FaithXLVII, Zio Ziegler, and Keya Tama.
In parallel, we’re relaunching the SkunkWorks digital ecosystem — including our website, newsletters, and social channels — to reflect our evolution from a grassroots innovation lab to a global model for incarcerated-led reform.
Your work will bridge these efforts — curating stories, social content, and multimedia assets that move audiences to action.
Your Role
You’ll collaborate with a team of senior creatives — including communications strategist Natalia Wodecki (formerly Salesforce & Zscaler) — and incarcerated storytellers to define how SkunkWorks shows up online.
Lead content planning and posting across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
Develop monthly social media calendars aligned with campaign goals and media milestones.
Write and edit posts that balance clarity, emotional resonance, and movement storytelling.
Coordinate with Incarcerated people, artists, designers, and videographers to produce visuals and motion content.
Analyze engagement data and audience growth to refine strategy.
Ensure brand coherence and authenticity across all platforms.
Engage respectfully with audiences, artists, and partners online.
You’ll join a creative ecosystem of incarcerated and free-world professionals from Google, Adobe, and DreamWorks — peers who bring the same rigor and care you do.
