    Descripción

The Pinnacles National Park Foundation is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Pinnacles National Park. It is our mission to ensure excellence in education, resource stewardship, and visitor experiences at Pinnacles National Park.

The Foundation is seeking to expand its Board of Directors. Board members think strategically, engage in collaborative leadership, and put a practical focus on results. Each member devotes time and effort toward tasks and roles that fit with their knowledge, experience, and interests. For example, some focus on the Condor Fund, which supports efforts to restore the population of the iconic California condor, brought back from the brink of extinction and once again breeding at Pinnacles National Park.

We are particularly seeking board members who have experience in fundraising, event planning, marketing, communications, volunteer coordination, and/or financial management. A legal or public policy background is also valuable. It is essential to have an interest in Pinnacles National Park, and helpful to have spent time at the park and willingness to learn more about it. Ideally, prospective board members would be located in northern or central California, but most work can be performed remotely.

The Board has business meetings in the evenings 6 times a year, plus informal meet-ups, mostly over Zoom. In-person retreats are scheduled near the park approximately once each year. Between meetings, board members work to advance their projects of interest. Board members are also expected to make a personal financial contribution to the Foundation, in any amount that is meaningful to them.

Pinnacles may be the smallest National Park in California, but it has a vibrant history with unique characteristics that make it worthy of care and preservation. Please reach out to us if you’d like to make a difference for Pinnacles!
