The Outagamie County Mentoring Program works with the youth in the community who need us the most. We match kids with adult mentors who empower and inspire them to become the best versions of themselves. A successful match is life changing for both the mentor and mentee! All of the youth in our program are between 6-17 years old and have been referred by a social worker from Outagamie County Health and Human Services. This program is completely voluntary for both the mentor and the mentee.
With 30 kids currently on our waiting list, we have a great need for more volunteer mentors. Mentor matches spend a minimum of 4 hours a month together developing a positive and trusting relationship the youth can rely on. Mentors expose youth to new and positive experiences that enhance self esteem and improve social skills. We find that many mentors enjoy getting to be a kid again with their mentee!
We provide all of our volunteer mentors with the training and support they need to make their match successful. We sponsor several group outings each year for our mentor matches and also reimburse for mileage.
