Seniors in Distress (SID) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and caring for seniors against neglect, abuse, isolation, and fraud. We provide advocacy, support, and intervention services that restore dignity and well-being to older adults.
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Talent Advocate (Volunteer – Unpaid) to help build and strengthen our team. The Talent Advocate will play an essential role in identifying, onboarding, and supporting volunteers who share our mission of compassion and respect for seniors.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, screen, and onboard new volunteers and advocates
- Coordinate and facilitate virtual orientation and training sessions
- Maintain accurate volunteer application and participation records
- Collaborate with department leads to understand staffing needs and match volunteers effectively
- Support volunteer engagement, performance tracking, and retention
- Help promote a culture of empathy, accountability, and service excellence within the organization
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, proactive, and dependable
- Prior experience in HR, volunteer management, or community service is an asset (but not required)
- Comfortable using digital tools such as Zoom, Slack, and Google Workspace
- Passionate about senior care, advocacy, and social impact
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
