    Volunteer Board of Directors Member- Fund Development

    General Scope

    • Create, implement, and manage an annual fundraising plan aligned with PESGSC’s mission, strategy, goals, and prioritized new initiatives.
    • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with donors, ensuring they feel valued and connected to our organization.
    • Cultivate relationships with other Sussex County non-profit organizations and foundations to learn from their best practices; better understand their funding decision criteria; and ascertain opportunities for possible fund development partnerships.
    • Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, grants, and events.
    • Craft compelling grant proposals to secure funding for identified PESGSC needs.
    • In partnership with the Outreach and Communications, develop and implement donor communications strategies, including appeals, newsletters, and acknowledgments.
    • Monitor fundraising performance, using resultant data to inform future strategies.
    • Support PESGSC’s Treasurer through providing Fund Development information for our annual budget; ongoing expense management, and reporting.

    Ongoing or Short-Term New Deliverables

    • Create a 2026 Fund Development Plan.
    • Create/Refine methods of tracking, compiling, and reporting on donations, grant funding, and special event-based revenues.
    • Work with the Board and Programming to identify, define, and quantify specific funding needs (exercise, choir, speech programs, etc.).
    • Create and present recommendations for new fund development sources.
    • Develop a calendar for each following year with actual recurring events.
    • Establish a method to connect with past member donors at certain times of the year (letter, social media, etc.) to encourage their continued donations.
    • Research potential local and Delaware state sources of grants. Prioritize the most feasible and beneficial for applications.
    • Prepare grant materials/proposals for highest priority funding sources. as opportunities arise.
    • Seek potential formal business financial sponsorships for PESGSC events, our ongoing programs, and on our webpage.
    • Review past PESGSC fundraiser performance to support continuous improvement.
