Spanish Language Interpreter - Volunteer Opportunity

About the Role

Battle Ground Healthcare serves a diverse community, and many of our patients are more comfortable communicating in Spanish. As a volunteer interpreter, you'll play a vital role in making sure patients can clearly understand their diagnoses, treatment plans, and instructions, while also helping providers clearly understand their patients' concerns.

What You'll Do

• Provide real-time interpretation between Spanish-speaking patients and clinic staff during appointments
• Assist with translating intake forms, consent documents, and discharge instructions
• Help patients navigate scheduling, follow-up care, and clinic resources
• Support front-desk staff with occasional phone interpretation as needed

Who We're Looking For

• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required
• Prior medical interpretation experience is helpful but not required
• Comfortable in a healthcare setting and able to maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA training provided)
• Warm, patient, and culturally sensitive communication style
