An 88-year-old woman with a delightful Jamaican accent, eagerly waiting for a Friendly Visitor Volunteer! She lives in beautiful Wallingford alongside her husband, surrounded by stunning gardens that she once lovingly tended on her own. While her husband is always there to lend a hand, his methods might not match up with hers, and she could truly use some support in organizing her growing pile of medical paperwork. With her eyesight becoming limited, having someone to help sort through it all could transform her daily life. Beyond the paperwork, she’s a treasure trove of captivating stories from her life, each one filled with rich experiences and laughter. If you're up for a gentle adventure, she would love the chance to stroll through the aisles of the grocery store and share a delightful lunch date.

The Agency on Aging of South-Central CT's volunteer program is supported by AmeriCorps Seniors and works to assist local seniors with companionship and connection, offering the support that helps them maintain their place in the community.
All volunteers must complete an application, agree to have a background check, meet with the program staff for onboarding, and submit documentation of time spent with the client for grant purposes.
