Make-A-Wish Digital Asset Management Volunteer

Make-A-Wish(r) Greater Bay Area is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of children between the ages of 2-1/2 and 18 battling life-threatening medical conditions. Make-A-Wish(r) Greater Bay Area was founded in 1984. In its first year, a total of 27 wishes were granted. Now one of the largest chapters nationwide, we have granted more than 8,500 wishes to date and grant up to 400 wishes per year. The Greater Bay Area Chapter is headquartered in Oakland and serves 17 counties of Northern California.

Summary:

When Make-A-Wish grants kids’ wishes, we get photos and videos of the wishes or wish activities from a variety of sources. This volunteer will help collect these photos, save them into our photo archives, update our spreadsheet linking to the collateral photos and sending out update reports to staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following:

• Downloading, organizing, and archiving photos and videos from sources like Dropbox, email, Facebook, and an upload form
• Renaming files to align with our naming conventions for files
• Updating shared spreadsheet with wish kid information, links to collateral folders and testimonial files
• Compiling a report of the new photos and videos and sharing with staff.
• Sharing photos with volunteers and others

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with digital photo archiving
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work within online photo sharing platforms, including Dropbox, Google Drive, Facebook, and more
• Passion for the mission, vision, and wish granting process of Make-A-Wish.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Location:

This position is remote.

Volunteer Commitment:

• 3-5 hours per week, depending on volume of photos. The schedule is flexible, but we do expect someone to be consistent weekly. We would like someone to commit to this role for 6 months to a year at minimum.
