Veteran/Active/Reserve Duty Volunteers Needed!

You bravely answered your country’s call to service and earned the right to be called a solider. You experienced many things that only your brothers and sisters in arms can related to and now those brothers and sisters need you again. Many veterans experience unique and often traumatic experiences during their service, and often veterans have special needs that require specialized care at the end of life. Hospice care can help address these needs and can be very meaningful to veterans. One of the most important services that hospice can provide is volunteer services which allow for valued companionship to these most deserving individuals.

We are currently recruiting veterans or active duty/reserve soldiers to participate in our Veteran to Veteran Volunteer program. This unique program is tailored towards honoring your service and special qualifications while pairing you with fellow Veterans who are receiving hospice services. Some example of activities you may do with a Veteran Patient include assisting Veterans in reminiscing/telling life stories, educating and assisting Veteran Patients in receiving Veteran benefits, taking part in pinning ceremonies or distributing certificates for Veterans Day and other recognition events, assisting in replacing lost medals, and generally providing a social and emotional outlet for these Veterans to be able to relate to someone who truly understands.
