Homemade Gifts are always the best! Work on projects in your home at your leisure. Completed projects can be dropped off at the Brighton office or arrangements can be made for them to be picked up at your home.
- Knitted or crocheted blankets, shawls, lap robes
- Sewers- quilts, small pillows, Memory bears, fidgets mats/blankets/aprons for patients who like to "tinker" and keep their hands busy.
- Homemade greeting cards- birthday, "thinking of you," sympathy, seasonal & holiday cards
- Greeting cards kits- Design & prep cards kits that patient visitation volunteers can "finish" with the patient
- Scrapbook kits- similar to the greeting card kit, the scrapbooking kit is meant to encourage reminiscing
- We honor Veterans- write a thank you for your service note or create patriotic-themed blankets (knit, crochet, or quilted)
- Floral arrangements and delivery
No experience is required, just a willing and compassionate heart. All Brighton Volunteers receive specialized training and ongoing support that prepares them to work side by side with the hospice team. We also provide infection control education and any necessary PPE to ensure you are prepared and comfortable in your service.
