Volunteer Advocate

Volunteer Advocates serve as the voice of a child who is currently in the court system. CASA volunteers have a very unique role and possess the ability to change the trajectory of a child's life. The CASA volunteer focuses solely on what is best for the child/children. CASA volunteers monitor and advocate for the child and are a stable and constant person in this child’s life.

A CASA volunteer provides a Judge with carefully researched background details about the child to help the court make a sound decision about that child's future. Each case is as unique as the child involved. The CASA volunteer determines what is in the best interest of the child. The CASA volunteer makes a recommendation on placement to the Judge and follows through on the case until it is permanently resolved.

Our volunteers go through a 30 hour training series. Interested individuals must have a background completed through our application process, must be at least 21 years of age, and are willing to commit 5-10 hours a month for 1-2 years with our organization.
