Uhuru Bakery & Cafe in North St. Louis needs your help to create a beautiful mural on the outside walls.
No experience is necessary! We will provide training and supplies!
Uhuru Bakery & Cafe is a much-anticipated sit-down restaurant, set to open soon in the longstanding “food desert” of the West Florissant corridor in St. Louis. It is part of the suite of community programs along this corridor, collectively referred to as the Black Power Blueprint, bringing economic development, healthy food and supporting social justice and self-determination for the black community.

This future community gathering spot is looking for volunteers to paint beautiful murals on the sides of the newly renovated building. An artist is professionally preparing the walls so people with no experience can participate!

All volunteers must be at least 14 years old. If you can’t stay for the whole time, please specify what time you will arrive and what time you need to leave, when you sign up.
We will email you a confirmation after you sign up. Make sure you respond to it so we can count you in!
There is construction in the area. Best to approach the bakery from Grand Blvd.
