Assist SVT staff in creating baseline documentation reports for new conservation restrictions and reservations. Primary responsibilities will be to accompany staff on field visits to photograph the property and record detailed information regarding the location of photos and condition of the property, creating maps of the property, adding property information to the database, and compiling final documents for our archive, field binders, and landowners.

Critical:Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Comfortable being off trail in often difficult terrain.
Desired: Experience with a compass.
Experience with survey plans.
Experience with ArcMap.
Experience with Salesforce.
Hours required: ~30 hours per property over several months
Duration:Must be willing to commit to at least one full year of service. Year-round
Location:In the field throughout SVT service area, Wolbach Farm, and potentially remote.
Reports to:Conservation Restriction Manager or Director of Land Management
Training provided:Training will be provided on how to use a compass, read a survey plan, procedure to create baseline report, creating simple maps in ArcMap (GIS), and entering data in Salesforce database.
Other notes:Volunteer will conduct both the field and office work. The timing of the work will depend on the timing of the closing of a land protection project. We typically have several months to draft the document so work can be spread out as long as the deadline is met.
Specific Activities
·Visit the property with SVT staff to walk boundaries and internal areas, take photographs of the property and assess the condition.
·Take detailed notes for each Photograph while in the field.
·Organize and label photos in PowerPoint.
·Create maps relevant to the property.
·Draft Baseline Inspection Report.
·Add relevant information to the property’s page in Salesforce.
·Compile all baseline documents into a final document.
Print and bind archive, field notebook and landowner copies of final document.
