Role Overview
FYAR is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Social Media Assistant Volunteer to support and grow our digital presence across multiple platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
This role centers on storytelling, community engagement, and brand visibility, helping amplify youth voices, program impact, and organizational initiatives. The ideal volunteer is a digital all-rounder who can tailor content for diverse audiences, youth participants, community partners, donors, and corporate sponsors.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Plan, create, and schedule engaging content, including captions, photos, graphics, short-form videos (Reels/TikTok), and longer-form video highlights (YouTube).
- Community Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages in a timely, respectful manner to foster a positive and supportive online community.
- Storytelling & Advocacy: Capture and share program moments, events, and youth success stories to showcase FYAR’s impact and support advocacy efforts.
- Strategic Growth: Research trends, hashtags, and platform best practices to adapt content for nonprofit growth and audience engagement.
- Promotion & Outreach: Support campaigns related to events, fundraisers, volunteer recruitment, and organizational milestones.
- Performance Tracking: Track basic engagement metrics (reach, likes, shares, comments) and share insights to inform future content strategies.
Ideal Candidate
- Prior experience managing social media accounts for a brand, nonprofit, organization, or personal project.
- Comfortable creating content across multiple platforms with different audiences in mind.
- Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar (preferred, not required).
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Creative, proactive, and reliable, with the ability to work independently.
- Passion for youth empowerment, arts, education, or community impact.
