Make a Difference in the Life of an Older Adult

Providence Pace is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide friendly companionship to older adults living in the Des Moines area. A simple visit, conversation, shared activity, or phone call can help reduce social isolation and bring meaningful connection to someone's day.

Volunteer Activities May Include:

• Friendly conversation and social visits
• Listening to music together
• Playing simple games or activities
• Sharing hobbies and interests
• Reading, crafts, or light recreational activities
• Phone or virtual companionship (for select opportunities)

Volunteer Qualifications:

• Friendly, patient, and dependable
• Comfortable interacting with older adults
• Able to maintain participant confidentiality
• Complete Providence volunteer onboarding requirements, including background screening and training

Commitment:

• Flexible scheduling
• Typically, 1–2 hours per week
• In-person and select virtual opportunities available
