Rebecca's Garden of Hope is seeking individuals with website development experience, interested in making a difference in the community by partnering with our organization to get the word out about the amazing ways we are empowering more youth to succeed through our tutoring and mentoring ministry.
Website Developer
Reports to Executive Director
Position Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to update and maintain the website and social media pages, monitor traffic coming to the sites and respond to social media posts.
This partnership gives college students and or skilled developers a unique way to give back in the community while assisting others who need a helping hand, to succeed. The candidate needs to be passionate about a career in information Technology and have a desire to continue developing those skills while supporting and promoting our story. Rebecca’s Garden of Hope is a tutoring and mentoring program for underserved youth in the community that has been impacting the lives of youth and families for over 15 years. The goal is to use our web and social media platforms to share our message of empowerment with our youth, families, community partners, donors, service providers and other interested parties as we continue working to develop long term relationships that will help to sustain and grow our ministry.
Duties and Responsibilities
Create visually appealing pages that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation
Design and develop the front-end and back-end components
Maintain the websites, or teach board members how to do so
Skills
Knowledge of current web standards
Understanding of the needs and challenges in developing and maintain an engaging community website
Understanding of site architecture, usability, and basic interface design principles
Familiarity with common web design platforms similar to Squarespace and Weebly
Qualifications:
Experience in front and back in web development, coding managing online content
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Passion for serving the needs of underserved youth in the community
Time Commitment
Minimum commitment at least 6-12 months. Longer commitment may be desired. Additional incentives are included and will be discussed during orientation.
