The Policy & Legislative Research Volunteer will assist the organization’s advocacy work by researching laws, regulations, and legislative proposals related to youth residential treatment programs and the troubled teen industry. Responsibilities include tracking state and federal legislation, summarizing bills and policy developments, assisting with the preparation of policy briefs or fact sheets, and compiling background research to support advocacy campaigns and public education. Volunteers may also help monitor legislative hearings, regulatory changes, and government reports relevant to youth rights and institutional accountability. Ideal candidates have strong research and analytical skills, experience with policy or legal research, and an interest in legislative advocacy, public policy, or youth justice issues.
