Love history? Love learning about the fascinating, complicated, inspiring stories of the past? Love using historic objects, houses, and spaces to understand another era? Come join us as a docent at Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion.
Located in Historic Germantown, Maxwell Mansion was built in 1859, and we interpret the lives and history of Americans who lived through the Sectional Crisis, Industrialization, the Civil War, and the Gilded Age. Restored rooms with period antiques give us the opportunity to tell the stories of these lives. Ir was an exciting era, and we are excited to share it with our visitor.
All docents are trained in the history of the house and era and in historic house museum interpretive methods.
