Brighten someone’s day with your presence.
AccentCare Hospice is currently seeking volunteers in the Mexia area to provide direct companionship and conversation to patients in local care facilities. Volunteers play a vital role in offering emotional support and meaningful engagement to individuals at the end of life.
Volunteer Activities May Include:
- Friendly conversation and companionship
- Playing simple games or cards
- Leading or assisting with crafts
- Sharing music, prayer, or quiet time
Where You'll Serve:
Volunteers visit patients in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or other care settings in Mexia.
Training & Support:
- Free and flexible training options (self-paced or in-person)
- Role-specific onboarding tailored to your interests
- Ongoing support from our volunteer services team
Health & Safety Requirements (Direct Volunteers Only):
- Background check
- Drug screening
- TB testing

- Initial Review & Role Matching
All applicants will be reviewed to tailor placement based on program interest and role-specific needs.
- Application Consent
Volunteers must consent to the full application process, which includes:
- Completion of a volunteer application form
- Agreement to program policies and expectations
- Training Options
Training is offered in two formats to accommodate your schedule:
- Self-paced online modules
- In-person sessions (scheduled regularly)
- Health & Safety Requirements (Direct Volunteers Only)
Volunteers serving in direct patient roles must complete:
- Background check
- Drug screening
- TB testing
- Document Submission
