Job Summary
The Project Manager for the 388th Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), plays a vital role in coordinating and overseeing squadron initiatives, ensuring timely execution and alignment with CAP's mission. Civil Air Patrol is a volunteer organization and the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, dedicated to aerospace education, cadet programs, and emergency services. The 388th Composite Squadron, based in Arizona, emphasizes leadership development, emergency services readiness, and active community engagement. The Project Manager supports these efforts by managing cross-functional projects and facilitating collaboration among squadron staff and volunteers.
Primary Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee squadron-level projects and initiatives.
- Develop project timelines, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress.
- Facilitate communication between staff officers and ensure alignment with squadron goals.
- Support event planning, training exercises, and community outreach activities.
- Maintain documentation and provide regular updates to the squadron commander.
- Ensure compliance with CAP regulations and reporting requirements.
- Create various reports for the Squadron Commander as needed.
- Create and store various documents in the Squadron’s Google drive.
- Follow the applicable CAP, AZ Wing, and Squadron procedures.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to this position.

- Experience in project management or team coordination.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with CAP operations and eServices is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a volunteer environment.
Work Environment
- Duties may be performed remotely or at the Squadron facility at Glendale Airport, AZ
- May be exposed to the natural environment with high and low temperatures
- May involve long periods of standing or sitting
- May be required to wear the CAP uniforms for Senior Members (see CAPR 39-1)
- May involve travel by auto or plane within Arizona to attend events.
