TEDxUStreetWomen – People’s Choice Talent Showcase

Journey to Your Promised Land (JTYPL), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is the fiscal agent for TEDxUStreetWomen and is seeking a Registration Desk Ambassador to support our upcoming People’s Choice Talent Showcase—a high-energy, TED-style event that highlights women thought leaders, innovators, and change-makers from around the world.
This is a unique opportunity for individuals who want to be in the room with global thought leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives, and community builders. TEDxUStreetWomen events attract attendees and speakers from across the U.S. and internationally, creating powerful opportunities for connection, learning, and visibility.
About TEDxUStreetWomen
TEDxUStreetWomen is a global TEDx platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of women who are bold, brilliant, and building the future. Through live events, digital programming, and international distribution, we showcase women whose ideas and stories inspire action, equity, and impact.
About the People’s Choice Talent Showcase
The People’s Choice Talent Showcase is a TED-style pitch competition where selected women present their ideas, missions, and ventures to a live audience. Attendees vote in real time, and finalists earn the opportunity to advance to the TEDxUStreetWomen stage. This event is part of our commitment to creating accessible pathways for women to be seen, heard, and supported on a global platform.
Volunteer Role: Registration Desk Ambassador
The Registration Desk Ambassador is the first point of contact for our guests and plays a critical role in setting the tone for the evening.
Responsibilities include:
- Welcoming guests and checking them in
- Managing the registration list and guest flow
- Distributing wristbands, ballots, or event materials
- Supporting VIPs, speakers, and special guests as needed
- Serving as a friendly, professional ambassador for TEDxUStreetWomen and JTYPL

How to Apply to Volunteer
Interested volunteers are invited to submit a Letter of Interest outlining their desire to support the TEDxUStreetWomen People’s Choice Talent Showcase.
Your letter should briefly include:
- Your name and contact information
- Why you are interested in volunteering to support TEDxUStreetWomen events
- Any relevant experience in events, hospitality, registration, customer service, or community engagement
- What excites you about supporting women leaders and global thought leadership
