The weekly Thursday morning pantry at Mountain Community Resources in Felton has an ongoing need for new volunteers. Work shift is 9:45-12:15.
Assignment will initially be "on call," then biweekly or even weekly, depending on vacancies in the team. Volunteers need to be free of physical issues that make moving & lifting 25 lbs difficult. This is a rewarding volunteer activity in a team of twelve friendly members of our community.
The pantry currently provides produce, staples, meats, and dairy to an average of 140 households each week, on average 5,000 lbs of food delivered weekly by Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County.
Mountain Community Resources is one of four Family Resource Centers run by Community Bridges.
Interested people should contact the Pantry Coordinator, Paul Machlis, at machlis@gmail.com, or 831-331-7632, who will arrange an initial shift.
