Resume Coach at WELD

WELD is seeking in-person volunteers to support participants during WELD Month by offering resume coaching and development assistance. Volunteers in this role will help individuals craft strong, professional resumes either from scratch or by refining existing ones. Ideal candidates will have experience with general resume building and tailoring resumes to specific industries or roles.

Responsibilities:

• Assist WELD Month participants in developing or refining resumes
• Provide guidance on formatting, phrasing, and tailoring resumes for different job opportunities
• Offer constructive feedback to help individuals present their strengths effectively
• Optionally, help coach individuals in preparing brief personal statements or cover letters
• Leverage AI resume tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Rezi, Jobscan, etc.) to identify strong job duty phrasing, align with job descriptions, and optimize keyword use

Qualifications:

• Experience with resume writing (master/general and tailored versions)
• Ability to give clear, encouraging feedback
• Familiarity with different resume formats and expectations across job sectors
• Experience using AI tools to support resume writing and job alignment
