Tuck in calls are done from your home to patients in hospice in their homes. You speak to whoever answers the phone and you ask if they need any supplies to get through the weekend. You will talk to the same families for the whole time they are on service. They are done on a Wednesday or Thursday before noon so that the care team can get the supplies to the patient and their families. This a service that takes away the stress of possibly running out. You gather the needs and communicate them to the care center office. You end up talking to answering machines most of the time but that message counts to those people, they still feel taken care of.
If this sounds like something you do please reach out via the link below and Kris. our volunteer coordinator will reach out to answer questions and talk about the onboarding process and the training. For an hour of your time you give hours of comfort to the patients and their care givers during very stressful times.
We look forward to speaking with you.
