    About LoopRoots Foundation

LoopRoots Foundation is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, justice involvement, housing instability, and other life challenges. Through transportation assistance, survivor services, workforce development, housing support, and community partnerships, we help individuals achieve safety, stability, and long-term success.

As part of our Survivor Services Division, LoopRoots is launching a national Emergency Housing Program that provides immediate access to safe emergency accommodations for eligible survivors through strategic partnerships with hotels, shelters, nonprofit organizations, and community providers.

    Position Overview

LoopRoots Foundation is seeking a passionate and experienced Volunteer Director of Emergency Housing Programs to help build and lead our emergency housing initiative for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other violent crimes.

A major focus of this role will be helping develop and expand our Safe Stays Emergency Housing Network, an initiative designed to secure blocks of hotel rooms at deeply discounted nonprofit rates, ensuring emergency accommodations are immediately available when survivors need a safe place to stay.

Working closely with the Executive Director and leadership team, you will help design program operations, establish community partnerships, create survivor-centered policies, and develop a scalable housing network that can expand into communities across the country.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the development of LoopRoots' Emergency Housing Program.
    • Help expand the Safe Stays Emergency Housing Network by identifying and cultivating relationships with hotels, hospitality partners, shelters, and housing providers.
    • Assist in negotiating long-term hotel room agreements that reserve emergency accommodations for survivors.
    • Develop policies, procedures, and operational workflows for emergency housing placements.
    • Build partnerships with domestic violence shelters, sexual assault centers, human trafficking organizations, victim service agencies, and community partners.
    • Develop referral, eligibility, intake, and placement procedures.
    • Collaborate with the Transportation, Survivor Services, Community Partnerships, and Grants teams.
    • Research funding opportunities and assist with program sustainability planning.
    • Help create quality standards and performance measures for the Emergency Housing Program.
    • Participate in strategic planning and leadership meetings.

    Preferred Qualifications

We welcome applicants with experience in:

    • Domestic violence or victim services
    • Sexual assault advocacy
    • Human trafficking response
    • Emergency shelter or housing programs
    • Housing navigation or case management
    • Hotel or hospitality partnerships
    • Homeless services
    • HUD Continuum of Care
    • Rapid Rehousing
    • Transitional housing
    • Community partnership development
    • Nonprofit leadership
    • Program development
    • Grant-funded programs

Equivalent volunteer experience, professional experience, or lived experience combined with leadership and program development skills is also encouraged.

    What You'll Help Build

The successful candidate will play a foundational role in creating a scalable emergency housing model that includes:

    • Reserved hotel rooms for emergency placements.
    • Partnerships with shelters and community organizations.
    • Standardized emergency placement procedures.
    • Survivor-centered housing protocols.
    • Rapid response coordination with victim advocates.
    • Expansion into additional cities and states over time.

    Growth Opportunity

As LoopRoots Foundation continues to expand, this volunteer position may have the opportunity to transition into a paid leadership role based on organizational needs, available funding, performance, and ongoing commitment. While a paid position is not guaranteed, we are committed to recognizing dedicated volunteers and creating pathways for long-term growth within the organization.

    Why Join LoopRoots?

This is a rare opportunity to help build a national emergency housing program from the ground up. Your work will directly contribute to creating safe, immediate housing options for survivors during some of the most critical moments of their lives, while helping establish partnerships that can provide long-term impact for communities nationwide.
