    Descripción

IcLucy is a youth-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit driving mental health innovation, equity, and early intervention, founded in California and operating for over 3 years.

As many as 45% of high school youth do not feel prepared for college or the real world. If we as a society do not value the practical education of our future generation, we actively let inequality continue to persist.

The mission of IcLucy is to advocate, educate, support, and provide for youth by providing them with the skills they need to be a well-rounded member of society while doing what they love. IcLucy has many teen-led chapters all over the US and the world, with many cool initiatives that YOU can be part of virtually, like menstrual education in Brazil to obesity awareness in Kuwait!

Some of our locations include : Brazil, Canada, Kenya, the UK, Kuwait, India, Zambia, Nigeria, etc.

Additionally, IcLucy is certified to give out the President's Volunteer Service Award to exceptional volunteers. We offer many virtual opportunities and have pretty flexible/cool opportunities depending on your interests!

    About the Blues Program

The Blues Program is a group-based, evidence-informed early intervention model that helps young people build skills to manage stress, mood, and school pressure before problems escalate. Backed by California Neuropsychiatry & Sleep, a medical clinic, and supported through major state funding, Blues is expanding across Southern California.

Why a Youth Committee & Advisory Board?

Youth voice is at the core of everything we do. The Youth Committee acts as both an advisory board and a leadership incubator:

    • Shaping outreach strategies so Blues reaches students most in need.
    • Advising on program design and delivery to ensure it resonates authentically with youth.
    • Leading community engagement, school partnerships, and peer-to-peer awareness campaigns.
    • Representing youth perspectives at advisory meetings with clinicians, policymakers, and nonprofit leaders.

    What We’re Looking For

We seek passionate, creative, and driven youth (high school juniors/seniors & college students) who are:

    • Interested in mental health, neuroscience, education, or community leadership.
    • Strong communicators who can represent their peers with clarity and authenticity.
    • Reliable team players who thrive in collaborative environments.
    • Excited to build skills in outreach, nonprofit leadership, and program development.

    Why Join?

    • Prestige & Impact: Be part of a select leadership board shaping one of California’s most innovative youth mental health programs.
    • Professional Development: Gain direct mentorship from clinicians, nonprofit leaders, and researchers in neuroscience and psychiatry.
    • Networking: Connect with community leaders, educators, and policymakers.
    • Real-World Experience: Build a portfolio of leadership and service that stands out on college, internship, and scholarship applications.
    • Voice & Agency: Influence how youth mental health is addressed in your schools and communities.
    • Leadership Portfolio: A standout commitment for college, scholarship, and career applications.

    Commitment

    • Serve a 9–12 month term (with opportunities to extend).
    • Dedicate ~3–5 hours per week to outreach, ambassadorship, and committee projects.
    • Attend monthly virtual meetings (with occasional in-person events in Orange County).

We are building a diverse founding cohort. Whether you’re a student leader, an artist, an athlete, or someone with lived experience of mental health challenges, your perspective is needed at the table.
