Volunteer Position – Construction Support & Supervision AKATIA – Côte d’Ivoire

AKATIA, a chimpanzee and monkey sanctuary in Côte d’Ivoire, is looking for a volunteer to support the field team with construction work and infrastructure improvements at the sanctuary.

🎯 Main duties

• Support and supervise construction activities (enclosures, buildings, infrastructure)
• Monitor daily progress of works on site
• Coordinate with the local team and craftsmen
• Provide logistical support related to construction when needed
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and sanctuary procedures

👤 Profile

• Independent, reliable, and adaptable
• Strong interest in wildlife conservation and hands-on fieldwork
• Background or experience in construction, site supervision, logistics, or project management is an asset
• Ability to work in a forest and tropical environment
• Driving licence required

⏱️ Duration

• Minimum commitment: 1 month (longer stays preferred)

💰 Financial conditions

• Contribution: €150 per month covering food
• Not covered:
  • International flight tickets
  • Visa
  • Transportation within Côte d’Ivoire
  • Personal insurance
