On-Call Hospital Advocate*

• On-Call Hospital Advocates respond to referrals from area hospitals and clinics to provide advocacy to victims of domestic and sexual violence.
• Meet with patients who have experienced domestic or sexual violence and provide support, information, referrals, and safety planning.
• On-call position with shifts generally available for overnights and weekends. Must be 18 or older and have not received Alexandra House services in the last year. In general, live within 30 miles of Unity and Mercy Hospitals. Must have a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle. You must have a hardline telephone or cell phone with reliable reception. Position requires Volunteer Interview, Volunteer Orientation, Background Check, Information Session, 50-hour training, and attendance at any additional volunteer meetings.
