Volunteers are the Heart of Hospice & Community Care
"Hospice isn't about dying in the end. It's about living till the end." - HCC Volunteer
Looking for a unique and incredibly rewarding way to serve your local community and make a difference? Hospice & Community Care is seeking volunteers who enjoy sewing to provide blankets, quilts, patient gowns and fidget blankets/quilts for patients in our care.
Patriotic-themed blankets and quilts are especially appreciated, as they are used during Veteran Military Pinning Ceremonies to thank our veteran patients for their service. During the ceremony, these blankets/quilts, which are lovingly made by our Seamstress Volunteers, are draped over the veteran patient, and then kept by the patient and family as a token of our appreciation for their sacrifice.
If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact Jen Horan at (717) 235-1594 or jhoran@hospicecommunity.org. No training is required for this volunteer role, and it can be done remotely. Instructions and guidance will be provided by our team of dedicated Volunteer Coordinators.
