Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. No matter what your interests are, we have an opportunity for you. Throughout the year we host fund-raising events and activities that bring people together to socialize and have fun all while making a difference in the lives of those with CF.

Current Need:

Great Strides Wilmington is right around the corner! We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to help this event run smoothly. There are various shifts available for volunteers on May 2, 2026, from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm for all skill sets! The walk is happening at Long Leaf Park.

Greeters: Direct participants to the right area and assist with filling out participant envelopes.

• Walk Route Monitors: Cheer our walkers along the route with pom-poms and noisemakers. Keep them pumped up and motivated while walking. This volunteer position is great for groups!
• Route Marking: Assist with marking walk route and setting up signage along the route.
• Rest Stops Cheer: walkers and hand out beverages at one of our rest stops along the route. This position is also great for groups!
• Walk Setup/Cleanup: Join the early bird or teardown crew and help set up tables, tents, and chairs for the event.
• Entertainers: If you are a clown, magician, balloon artist or have another unique talent and would like to donate your time, please contact us.
• Photographers We need photographers who can volunteer to take photos of teams, sponsors, start and finish line, route and celebration photos.
