Hospice Field Volunteer -- Visiting your Neighbors

Join our volunteer community! Field Volunteers Needed.
EvergreenHealth Hospice is one of the few remaining not-for-profit Hospice services in the region. We support patients and their families all over King and Snohomish counties. We rely on caring neighbors to brighten our patients' days by visiting them wherever they live -- in private homes or facilities.
All volunteers complete a comprehensive Hospice Core Training and specialized position training.
Field Volunteers are trained to understand and support hospice patients and their families. We will teach you the practical and emotional skills you need to confidently spend time alongside the dying while helping them enjoy their life.
Field Volunteers provide a variety of assistance which can include listening to the patient reminisce, reading, singing, playing or listening to music, watching TV with the patient, running errands, or just providing quite companionship.
Some Field Volunteers choose to offer respite visits that allow a caregiver to attend to their own needs out in the community or have some much needed personal time off.
Field Volunteers are truly serving their neighbors -- in private homes, adult family homes, or skilled nursing facilities. You choose your assignment, based on your own criteria (location, day of the week, what is being requested).
Field Volunteers are integral members of the hospice team. They are supported by the Volunteer Coordinators, by the other members of the patient's care team, and, if needed, by our Bereavement Coordinators.
Ongoing hospice education, support meetings, and friendly volunteer gatherings are offered throughout the year.
