Put Your Healthcare Skills to Work When Your Community Needs You Most!
When disaster strikes, access to compassionate healthcare can make all the difference. The American Red Cross is seeking dedicated healthcare professionals to join our Disaster Health Services (DHS) team and help individuals and families affected by emergencies.
As a Disaster Health Services Volunteer, you'll:
- Provide disaster-related health support to individuals and families affected by emergencies.
- Assist with local disaster responses, emergency shelters, and community outreach efforts.
- Support disaster recovery efforts by helping individuals address their immediate health needs.
- Collaborate with fellow Red Cross volunteers to provide compassionate care during times of crisis.
Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome qualified healthcare professionals with active, unrestricted licenses or certifications, including RNs, LPNs, LVNs, NPs, physicians, physician assistants, EMTs, and paramedics. Eligible retired nurses may also qualify depending on state regulations.

Interested in volunteering?
The first thing you will want to do is set up an account with Volunteer Connection. This platform will be the site you will use to add your information, as well as to search and find opportunities within the area. Click on the following link: Get Started Today!, and you will click the red button that says "Apply Now". Once you create the account, here is where you can browse opportunities in the area. Additionally, you can navigate to the Opportunities Page and can explore positions that require more commitment/time than one off volunteer events.
