Volunteer with Joy Card Project to make cheerful cards for senior citizens in nursing homes or assisted living facilities!
INTERNATIONAL Volunteers are welcome! You can make cards from anywhere around the world.
What to Expect: It's very simple. You make cheerful cards for senior citizens and deliver the Joy Cards to any local senior citizen facility (ex. senior assisted living, nursing care, memory care etc.) in your area.
Earn Volunteer Service Hours: (optional)
3 cards made= 1 hour of service
1 delivery = 2 hours of service
- photo verification required for service hours
What's Required:
Time commitment is flexible and no end date.
Make the cards when you have time and schedule a delivery to a senior citizen facility of your choice. Google search for a senior care center in your area and deliver the cards to their front desk or Activities Director.
Guidelines:
Handmade Cards/any paper and any size
Must be NEAT, COLORFUL and CHEERFUL- 4 or more colors on each card
Must write FIRST name only and "Joy Card Project"
Make as many cards as you like. Every card makes a big impact on a senior citizen's life. This can be a remote one-time project or an ongoing project depending on your availability.

Joy Card Project Volunteer
Hi !
We are so excited to get you started on the Joy Card Project! You can start making Joy Cards today!
It’s very simple. You make cheerful cards from home for senior citizens and deliver the Joy Cards to any local senior citizen facility, like senior assisted living, nursing care, memory care etc.
Make 1 Joy Card or 100 Joy Cards- Every card you make matters and makes a huge impact! Remember: Small gestures make a big impact in a senior’s life. This activity is great for schools and corporate offices also. If interested in having your school or work participate, click here to read about the Joy Card Campaign or Joy Card Ambassador.

STEP 1- Make the Joy Cards
Card Guidelines:
- Handmade Cards/any paper and any size (folded or unfolded)
- Must be NEAT , COLORFUL and CHEERFUL- 4 or more colors on each card
- Must write your FIRST name only and “Joy Card Project”

STEP 2- Deliver the Joy Cards
- Print the attachments (delivery cover sheet and info sheet).

- Glue the cover to a large envelope and insert info sheet printout and Joy Cards into the envelope
- Deliver to a local senior center/facility. Google search “Senior Citizen assisted living” to find one near you. You can either drop off the envelope at the front desk (usually given to the Activities Director) of the senior facility or make arrangements to hand deliver the cards to the seniors during lunch/dinner time.
- REMEMBER TO TAKE PHOTOS OF THE JOY CARDS and the senior facility so we can feature you on our website and Instagram.
Your photos will help us showcase the impact of the Joy Card Project campaign and encourage others to get involved. We also need your photos to keep track of Joy Card Project’s impact on the community.

3 Joy Cards = 1 service hour
1 delivery = 2 service hours
- Email photo of cards
(one photo with multiple cards please- prevents full storage of my email account) and photo of the delivery for verification. Send completed verification form from our website under “volunteer printout” tab.
