Social Work Students – Get Real Experience in Hospice
Are you a social work student looking to build meaningful, real-world experience?
Hospice is one of the most valuable settings to understand end-of-life care, family dynamics, grief, and emotional support. Many hospice agencies hire LMSWs, and volunteer experience can help you stand out.
As a hospice volunteer, you will gain experience in:
Patient and family interaction
Emotional support and active listening
Grief and end-of-life awareness
Interdisciplinary team exposure
Professional communication skills
Most visits are simple and meaningful:
Talking with patients
Listening to life stories
Providing companionship
Supporting families during difficult times
No experience is required. Training is provided, and our team will support you every step of the way.
You set your own schedule and choose the patients you visit. Typical visits are about 1 hour per week per patient.
