Descripción
16 ways for volunteers to be involved-
- Direct patient Companionship> must be 18 + and TB tested (free done here)
Visiting, talking, reading aloud, playing games (cards, board games), watching TV,
listening to music, taking walks
- Family Respite> errands, light chores
- Legacy Gifts > helping patients tell their life story
- Office help > clerical anytime on Mon – Fri 8 am – 5 pm creating admission
binders, or general office data entry/ filing
- Tuck in caller on Thursdays > after 9 am before 7 pm
- Unpack supplies> on Mon after 1 pm
- Make monthly hand made Birthday Cards for patients
- Crafting of Memory bears> personal fabric added to gift to children
- Prayer Shawls> Knitting or crocheting or quilting
- Donation Drives – lead, create, collect, donate. Clothing, blankets, fans, rosaries,
bibles, no slip socks, hospital gowns, Hygiene bags.
- Bereavement> calls or mail outs
- Music therapy
- Veteran Support> Certificates, pinning ceremony, final salutes, 3 events per year.
- Yard work > groups/ troops to do yardwork for patients in need
- Pet walking
- Therapeutic Services> Offering massage, aromatherapy, or pet therapy (with
certification)
