Are you an engaged and involved member of the community? Do you want to help grow the impact of the Western Maryland Walk to End Alzheimer's on October 11th? Then we need you! Join your local Walk to End Alzheimer's Planning Committee as a member of our Event Experience team and help grow the movement to end Alzheimer's from the ground up.
We are looking for community members to assist in planning the logistics of the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Help by planning logistics for the walk and other events leading up to the walk, assisting with day of set-up, and more. This role also will help with volunteer recruitment and training the week of the event. This role is an integral part of the Committee, as planning the event is a huge undertaking.
You will receive resources and participate in an orientation to receive training on the basics of Alzheimer's disease, learn about Association programs and services, and receive an introduction to the Walk event model.
There will be an in-person Committee kick-off meeting in March, then virtual meetings will generally held monthly for 30 minutes. An in-person meeting will be held at Harry Grove Stadium the week leading up to Walk day.
Walk Planning Committee members are also expected to start or join a Walk to End Alzheimer’s team to raise awareness and funds. Together, we can create a memorable and moving event experience for participants.
A connection to the cause is amazing, but is not required to join our committee!
