Volunteer with Glenner Centers - Hillcrest

The George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers, Inc.(r) invite kind, compassionate individuals to join us in making a lasting impact in the lives of seniors across San Diego County. As a volunteer at one of our specialized adult day centers, you’ll help bring connection, dignity, and joy to those affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

    Who We’re Looking For

We welcome dedicated volunteers who are eager to make a positive difference. Ideal candidates are 16 years or older (volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). A commitment of at least 3 hours per month for 6 months is required.

    Flexible Opportunities

Volunteers can serve at any of our three locations-Hillcrest, Chula Vista, or Encinitas-Monday through Friday. Whether you're looking for service-learning credit, an internship, or a chance to give back, we offer flexible scheduling to meet your needs.

    Next Steps

    To get started:

    1. Submit an application - https://glenner.org/services/volunteer-program/volunteer-program-application/
    2. Complete an interview
    3. Pass a background check
    4. Provide proof of a clear TB test and COVID-19 vaccination (vaccine exemption requests accepted)
    5. Attend a 6-hour orientation (part online, part in person)

Once these steps are complete, you’ll be matched with one of our Glenner Centers.
