Earth Day "Climb for a Better Tomorrow" Event at the Observatory

The Blue Hill Observatory is inviting the Greater Boston Community to climb Great Blue Hill and to stop by the Observatory to be counted as a participant in our "Climb for a Better Tomorrow" campaign- a community gathering that combines the simple power of hiking with a profound commitment to climate education and environmental stewardship. Once participants make the climb they tap an LED Electronic Display Board counter that will count up throughout the day to count each person who took the climb challenge. For those social media savvy participants, volunteers will collect photos and testimonies that will be posted to the Observatory's social media feeds.

Dates and time required:

Saturday, April 18, 2026

• 8:45am to 12:15pm
• 12:15pm to 3:45pm

Five volunteers are needed to fulfill the following duties:

• Direct people to LED board, take social media photo and testimony.
• Answer general questions
• Support maintaining a clean environment; point out trash cans and/or pick up any trash
