    Role Overview

    We are seeking a seasoned marketing and communications professional to serve as our Volunteer Strategic Marketing & Digital Communications Advisor. In this role, you will lead efforts to elevate the Foundation’s brand, increase digital visibility, and strengthen online engagement to support fundraising initiatives. Join a fast-moving, fully field-based nonprofit to expand its global impact. As Luena’s first dedicated Marketing Advisor, you’ll shape our digital strategy, elevate our brand, and drive online engagement that directly powers fundraising growth.

    This is a volunteer leadership opportunity for someone who wants to leverage their expertise for a meaningful cause while shaping the digital strategy of a growing nonprofit organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Digital Strategy & Brand Development
    • Develop and oversee a comprehensive digital marketing and social media strategy aligned with the Foundation’s mission and fundraising goals.
    • Strengthen and unify the Foundation’s brand identity across all online channels.
    • Advise on best practices in SEO, analytics, and digital advertising to optimize reach and engagement.
    • Design and implement a strategy to drive audience growth, engagement rate, email conversion, and donation uplift
    1. Content Leadership
    • Guide the creation of compelling storytelling content (social media posts, videos, graphics, newsletters) that highlights impact and inspires action.
    • Establish content calendars and ensure consistent, high-quality messaging.
    • Mentor junior staff or volunteers in content creation, providing direction and feedback.
    1. Fundraising & Campaign Innovation
    • Partner with the fundraising team to design innovative digital campaigns that drive donations and donor engagement.
    • Explore and integrate creative approaches such as influencer partnerships, storytelling series, or cause-driven campaigns to increase visibility.
    • Leverage data insights to refine strategies and maximize fundraising outcomes.
    1. Advisory & Collaboration
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on marketing, branding, and communications.
    • Bring forward industry trends, innovative tools, and proven strategies to advance digital engagement.
    • Act as a thought partner in promoting DEI-driven, inclusive messaging.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience (5+ years) in digital marketing, branding, or communications preferably with nonprofit or social impact organizations.
    • Strong track record in building digital strategies that drive measurable growth in engagement, visibility, or fundraising.
    • Expertise in social media platforms, campaign management, and digital storytelling.
    • Familiarity with tools such as WordPress, Canva, Mailchimp, Meta Business Suite, TikTok, or Google Analytics.
    • Strategic thinker, creative problem solver, and results-oriented leader.
    • Passion for the Luena Foundation’s mission and a commitment to donating time and expertise for social good.

    Commitment
