Must be a high school student or an administrator in the United States.

The Law Context is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to making legal information clear, accessible, and understandable for everyone. It bridges the gap in legal literacy by breaking down complex rules into practical, real-world explanations.

As a chapter leader, you are your school's official representative and primary organizer for your school's chapter of The Law Context. You will lead campus engagement, facilitate discussions around legal topics, and build a local community of students interested in the law. All through low-cost, high-impact daily and weekly initiatives.

    Daily and weekly responsibilities:

    • Community Outreach: Actively talk to classmates, post updates on the Law Context's Discord server (in your designated chapter's chat, or share announcements to spark interest in legal topics and recruit new members.
    • Team management: Manage chapter members and organize educational campaigns and fundraisers; answer questions from interested students and welcome members to the chapter as they arrive.
    • Facilitate discussions: Host short regular (weekly or bi-weekly) classroom or online meetups focusing on landmark court cases, current legal news, debates, etc. These must be run on a zero budget, in places like your school's library or yard.
    • Attendance & tracking: Keep track of active chapter members and log meeting attendance.
    • Communication Hub: Maintain the school chapter's Discord chat, email list, or bulletin board to keep members informed about upcoming discussions or national organization updates.
    • Leadership liaison: Serve as the main point of contact between your school's chapter and the core Law Context leadership team.

At any point, you may appoint another student at your school who's interested to help with any of the responsibilities above. But this must be reported.

    Key qualifications:

    • Strong leadership and communications skills
    • Passion for law, public policy, or debate
    • Highly organized and self-motivated
    • Ability to engage peers creatively without relying on funded events.

There can only be TWO chapter leaders per school. You must have a teacher or admin willing to run this with you, and you can provide their email upon request.

The Law Context is fiscally sponsored by The Hack Foundation. Before any action can be taken as a volunteer for The Law Context. You must email our Founder, and she will direct you further.
