This year, Can Play is proud to once again host Courage on the Court, a unique 3-on-3 wheelchair basketball tournament that invites individuals and area businesses to step—or rather, roll—into someone else's perspective.
Open to participants without a disability, Courage on the Court offers a firsthand experience of the daily challenges faced by our Courage program participants. Beyond the physical experience, Courage on the Court is a powerful fundraiser, with all proceeds helping Can Play continue its mission of breaking down barriers to play in our community. By supporting this event, you're not just participating in a game—you're contributing to the growth and evolution of adaptive and no-cost sports programs that positively impact Every BODY.
Through our sign-up link, you will be able to select which shift you are interested in volunteering for:
Registration/Hospitality: Help out and serve by registering teams upon arrival, handing out their drink and raffle tickets, directing them to their assigned court, and being flexible to assist with any other needs that may arise throughout your shift.
3 Point Contest: Help out and serve by being a volunteer for our 3 Point contest. You will either be rebounding the shots or refilling each rack with basketballs.
Ball Shaggers: Help out and serve by being a ball shagger. A ball shagger will assist with keeping the pace of play by retrieving the ball if it goes out of bounds.
Score Keeper: Help out and serve by being a score keeper. Scorekeepers will keep score of the game on their court and report the score to the court marshal.
