Volunteer Opportunity: Walking Companion
Location: Portland, OR (Laurelhurst area)
Commitment: In-person volunteer opportunity
Schedule: Flexible, based on volunteer availability and participant needs
Make a Meaningful Difference
We are seeking a compassionate and patient volunteer to provide companionship and accompany an older adult on neighborhood walks. This participant enjoys getting out into the community and would benefit from the support and social connection of a caring volunteer.
Volunteer Activities:
- Accompany participant on walks in the neighborhood
- Provide friendly companionship and social engagement
- Offer encouragement and support during outings
- Help promote physical activity and community connection
Ideal Volunteer:
- Comfortable engaging with individuals who communicate in different ways
- Patient, kind, and dependable
- Enjoys walking and spending time outdoors
- Able to build rapport through presence, companionship, and attentive interaction

Instrucciones:
Volunteer Onboarding & Commitment Requirements
- Complete the Providence Volunteer Application.
- Successfully complete all required medical screening requirements.
- Attend Volunteer Orientation.
- Review and sign all required onboarding and compliance documents.
- Commit to volunteering at least 3 visits per month.
- Commit to a minimum of 6 months of service or 100 volunteer hours, whichever comes first.
- Maintain communication with Volunteer Services regarding availability and scheduling.
