Board Member

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting those who experienced the loss of a significant person. Board members will have achieved leadership stature in their field of practice. The potential board member should have a commitment to, and an understanding of Hands Holding Hearts. They should possess diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationship, persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals. The board member will support the work of Hands Holding Hearts and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While Hands Holding Hearts day to day operations are lead by the Executive Director, all board members are expected to participate in fundraising, outreach, and recruitment of new board members as well. Board members will consider Hands Holding Hearts a philanthropic priority and either make annual gifts that reflect this priority or solicit contributions from foundations, organizations, and individuals. Hands Holding Hearts expects to have 100 percent of board members commit to this obligation. Board members serve a term of three years and are eligible for re election after that period. Board meetings are held monthly on a rotating basis of in person and via zoom. Attendance is required at monthly and special meetings.
