Position Overview
Children Striving Together is seeking passionate and committed individuals to serve as Board Members. This leadership role is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute their time, expertise, and networks to support the organization’s strategic growth, governance, and long-term sustainability. Board Members play a critical role in shaping organizational direction, ensuring accountability, and expanding CST’s reach and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Strategic Oversight and Governance: Offer high-level guidance to support organizational direction, ensure alignment with mission and values, and uphold strong governance practices.
- Support Fundraising Efforts: Actively contribute to CST’s financial sustainability through a “give or get” commitment, including personal contributions, securing donations, or leveraging networks for sponsorship opportunities.
- Engage in Board Meetings: Attend and actively participate in quarterly board meetings, contributing thoughtful insights, feedback, and collaborative decision-making.
- Serve on Committees: Participate in at least one board committee (such as Fundraising, Programs, or Events), providing focused support and helping drive key initiatives forward.
- Act as a Community Ambassador: Represent CST within your professional and personal networks, increasing visibility, building relationships, and advocating for the organization’s mission.
- Support Program Growth: Contribute ideas, resources, and connections to strengthen and expand key programs, including the Entrepreneurship Lab and Mentorship Cohorts.
Qualifications
We are seeking individuals with experience, interest, or expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Nonprofit leadership, governance, or board service, with an understanding of organizational oversight and accountability
- Fundraising, donor engagement, or development strategy, including cultivating and maintaining donor relationships
- Youth development, education, or mentorship, with a passion for supporting underserved communities
- Corporate partnerships, business development, or community outreach, with the ability to build strategic relationships
- Marketing, branding, operations, or organizational strategy that can support CST’s growth and visibility

Expectations
- Attend and actively participate in quarterly board meetings
- Fulfill a minimum fundraising commitment of $2,500 annually through CST’s “give or get” policy
- Commit to a 1–2 year board term, with consistent engagement throughout the duration
- Actively support organizational initiatives, events, and strategic priorities as needed
