    About the Organization

Angelic Musings y Virtudes is a sanctuary and temple founded on the values of Peace, Love, and Freedom. We uplift and support the well-being of marginalized communities—especially BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and diffabled people—through a holistic approach that integrates self-elevation, resilient community building, and socio-ecological regeneration to restore connection with ourselves, each other, Mother Earth, and the Divine.

    Opportunity

Angelic Musings y Virtudes is recruiting founding Board Members to help us officially incorporate (Miami, FL), pursue federal 501(c)(3) status, and help us establish a physical presence in Puerto Rico.

This is a volunteer Board, meaning Board Members are not compensated. Members contribute time, expertise, care, and leadership to help establish strong governance, guide strategic growth, and support fundraising and partnership development.

We are seeking mission-aligned leaders who understand that a strong Board is an essential impact multiplier—especially for a values-driven organization working at the intersection of wellness, Spirituality, community care, and socio-ecological regeneration.

Estimated time commitment: ~4–10 hours/month (plus occasional events/outreach), with meetings held virtually unless otherwise noted.

    What Board Service Entails

    Board Members are expected to:

    • Understand and champion the organization’s mission, programs, and evolving needs.
    • Review Board materials ahead of meetings (strategic plans, budgets, financials, key documents).
    • Attend and actively participate in Board meetings and committee work.
    • Serve as ambassadors—helping expand visibility, credibility, partnerships, and support.
    • Participate in fundraising in ways that fit your capacity (e.g., introductions, sponsorship outreach, grant strategy support, donor cultivation, and/or hosting small gatherings).
    • Make a meaningful personal contribution that is aligned with your means.
    • Engage in learning opportunities to stay grounded in the lived realities of the communities we serve.
    • Uphold a culture of respect in the Boardroom by honoring diverse lived experiences, viewpoints, identities, and wisdom.
    • Lead with integrity and align with our values of Peace, Love, and Freedom.

    Officer Roles

Officer positions include the responsibilities above, in addition to role-specific duties.

    Treasurer

    • Provide oversight of the organization's financial condition and affairs.
    • Keep the Board informed of financial health, risks, and compliance needs.
    • Oversee budget development and ensure clear, timely financial reporting to the Board.
    • Chair (or help establish) the Finance Committee.
    • Support annual audit/financial review processes as needed.

    Secretary

    • Maintain accurate meeting minutes and records of Board actions.
    • Support meeting logistics (e.g., sending meeting notices, agendas, and materials).
    • Maintain Board records (governing documents, policies, resolutions) and support legal compliance tracking.
    • Ensure secure documentation and continuity of records as the organization grows.

    Vice President

    • Support the Board President.
    • Facilitate meetings when needed.
    • Help coordinate Board performance and governance development.

    Who We're Looking For

We are seeking mission-aligned individuals with strong collaboration, communication, strategy, and implementation skills, plus a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Expertise in one or more of the following areas is especially helpful:

    • Nonprofit governance and operations (especially early-stage organizations)
    • Fundraising, grants, major gifts, sponsorships, partnerships
    • Finance/accounting, budgeting, compliance, audit support
    • Legal/compliance (501(c)(3) nonprofits)
    • Community wellness, public health, mental health, trauma-informed work
    • Environmental justice, socio-ecological research, urban ecology
    • Regenerative land development, sustainable urban agriculture, urban planning
    • Marketing, communications, PR, media relationships
    • HR, administration, project/program management
    • Spiritual leadership and/or culturally rooted healing traditions (values-aligned)

We strongly encourage candidates with lived experience in the communities we serve, especially BIPOC, Latinx, LGBTQIA+, and diffabled leaders.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

To fulfill our mission, we are committed to creating a Board that is diverse in composition, inclusive in culture, and equity-centered in decision-making. We are publicly recruiting for Board positions to move beyond our immediate networks and build governance that reflects the communities we aim to uplift.
