Fundraising Manager / Development Associate (Remote | National Impact)

Are you an ambitious professional, graduate student, or communicator looking to build executive-level experience in corporate partnerships, grant writing, and donor development?

The National African Student Association (NAfSA) is seeking a strategically minded Fundraising Manager / Development Associate to work alongside our cross functional teams. In this role, you will help design and execute revenue strategies that directly fund national programming, community programs, leadership summits, and student grants across multiple states.

Whether you are a corporate professional looking to lend your pitch skills for a few strategic hours a week, or an ambitious graduate looking for a structured 20-hour track to fulfill academic/OPT requirements, this role offers elite resume-building equity.

    What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

    • Grant Strategy & Writing: Research, identify, and draft grant proposals for corporate foundations, public grants, and philanthropic institutions aligning with diaspora youth development.
    • Corporate Sponsorship Pitching: Help design partnership pitch decks and conduct outreach to corporate sponsors for NAfSA’s national initiatives and events.
    • Donor & Pipeline Tracking: Maintain and manage NAfSA’s donor relationship pipeline, setting up systemized workflows for sponsor check-ins, tax receipts, and impact reporting.

What We Are Looking For (Qualifications):

    • Reconcile & Audit Ledgers: Manage and clean historical non-profit transactions, migrating them into a standardized, audit-proof digital ledger.
    • Financial Modeling: Help build Excel/Google Sheets budget structures detailing program cost-per-student and funding projections for corporate grant applications.
    • State Compliance Audit: Research and compile state-by-state solicitation registration deadlines to ensure NAfSA is fully compliant across all operating regions.

What We Are Looking For (Qualifications):

    • Strong interest or degree alignment in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Administration, or Non-Profit Management.
    • A charismatic, persuasive communicator with strong written skills and an interest in relationship building.
    • Ability to commit to either our Standard Track (5–7 hours/week) or OPT Track (20 hours/week) on a consistent schedule.

What’s In It For You (Perks & Benefits):

    • 💼 High-Value Executive Portfolio: Tangible proof on your resume that you pitched, wrote grants for, and secured capital for a national 501(c)(3) network.
    • 🎓 F-1 OPT Approved Placement: As a qualified 501(c)(3) organization, we will issue a formal, signed engagement letter on official letterhead outlining your 20-hour/week commitment and linking your accounting duties directly to your degree.
    • 🌐 Direct Leadership Mentorship: Work alongside the Executive Board with direct access to letters of recommendation and formal LinkedIn endorsements
