Visit when it works with your schedule, have fun with the patients, bring smiles to their faces. Patients get lonely and families at home and staff at the facilities are not always able to spend quality time with the patients. This opportunity allows you to spend time to help them organize their pictures, play cars, build puzzles, work with those who want to have visitors. Some patients want to go outside, some play Bingo or would like to join activites in the common area but no one will help them get there. You can make the difference in someone's day.
We can offer visits and once they become comfortable with your visits, you can make progress to do more things. Trust is a valuable relationship builder.
We also sign off for school credit hours and can write evaluations for you, if needed. Volunteer work means a lot for job and academic impressions. Gain personal experience in working with others and building relationships.

Cómo participar como voluntario(a) en esta oportunidad
Seeking those who can offer 1-2 hours a week visiting patients in their homes or nursing facilities. We offer Orientation, Training, and introductions to patients. There will be computer Orientation, then meet for training and more Orientation about the company and the volunteer role. You will need to go have a TB test (unless you have taken one in the last 12 months), drug screening and background check, all cost covered by the company. I would like to send you an application, meet for coffee and move forward as soon as available. If you need volunteer hours for work or school, that will be provided as well as any references, once you have completed at least 3 months of service.
