    Commitment: Flexible (5–15 hours/week)

Type: Skilled Volunteer / Capacity Building

    About the Organization

Universal Removal Defense Project (URDP) is a developing nonprofit human rights organization working to expand access to immigration legal services for individuals in removal (deportation) proceedings.

URDP is building a language-accessible, culturally responsive legal support model designed to serve individuals across the United States, particularly those facing barriers to representation due to language, geography, or financial limitations.

The organization is currently in a capacity-building phase, focused on strengthening its operational, outreach, and governance infrastructure to support sustainable, long-term impact

    Volunteer Opportunity Overview

URDP is seeking skilled volunteers with an interest in marketing, outreach, and nonprofit development to support organizational growth and visibility.

This role is designed for individuals who want to:

    • Help expand awareness of immigration and human rights issues
    • Build outreach and communication systems for a growing nonprofit

    • Immigration, human rights, or social justice advocacy

    Ideal candidates are:

    • Mission-driven and proactive
    • Interested in building systems, not just executing tasks
    • Comfortable working in a collaborative, early-stage environment

    Growth & Leadership Opportunities

As URDP continues to develop its governance structure, volunteers who demonstrate strong commitment, leadership, and alignment with the mission may have opportunities to:

    • Take on expanded leadership roles
    • Contribute to strategic organizational decisions
    • Be considered for future advisory or governance participation as the organization grows

(All governance roles are structured in accordance with nonprofit best practices and organizational needs.)
